A Day of Baking- Sweet & Salty Cake
When I want to explore recipes beyond the pages of my baking books, I usually go online and check some out. I always go to Martha Stewart's page among others because the recipes always come out right. I'm loving the craze of salted caramel or salted sweets, so obviously when I saw this recipe I knew I had to try it. I must admit I was somewhat intimated by it, because there are many steps and I had never actually done caramel myself. I did the entire recipe the same day and it was exhausting! I recommend you make the Ganache and Salted Caramel a day before let it sit in the fridge in an air tight container and bake the cake the next day and assemble. The recipe is actually from Baked bakery in New York City (http://bakednyc.com) but it's featured in Martha Stewart's page. I'm sharing some pictures of the final product, you can find the recipe for the Sweet and Salty Cake at http://www.marthastewart.com/332919/sweet-and-salty-cake.
