Traveling with Style

Traveling and style don't usually mix, and even more so when your getting on a 5+ hour trip, it's only natural to value comfort over style in these circumstances. For example, choosing flats over amazing pumps, or going for slouchy pants instead of skinny ones, but the truth is, you don't really have to sacrifice style completely. Lets target pants, I don't consider skinny jeans to be the most comfortable trousers for sitting in small seats for what seems like endless hours, but I won't go for sweatpants either, the trick is to find loose fitted pants, possibly with some stretch to them and if you score them in a great bold color or print it'll be perfect. Blouses are easier to find in a comfortable fit, you can go for a great T-shirt and add a jacket or scarf to keep you warm and add even more colors and character to your look. Ballet flats are a great go to for traveling, they're super easy to take off when you have to pass by the security check points and they're also really comfortable. Lastly, be wise to take a bag that's big enough to fit everything, but that you will able to have your hands free to carry other bags. What are your travel basics? Hope you like this look!

Vieques Weekend

As I mentioned on friday's post, I went to Vieques for the weekend with my boyfriend's family. Needless to say, it was an amazing trip, full of laughs, good times and specially sunny days at the beach. It was my first time ever in Vieques and all I had heard was that the beaches were amazing, with crystal clear blue water and white sand. All I can say is that I would go again in a heart beat! Amazing falls extremely short of what these beaches are, imagine a huge beach with crystal clear water in all the shades of blue you can think of, white sand and very few people on them, it's perfection. I hope these pictures give you an idea of how amazing this place is; it's the perfect way to unwind and soak up the sun and scenery.

Let me know what you think!

Packing for Vieques

I'm leaving today for a weekend getaway at Vieques; it's another island that forms part of Puerto Rico and is actually another municipality. Vieques is all about the beautiful beaches and a very slow paced lifestyle. I tried to keep my packing light, you really don't need much to enjoy the beach and slow paced nights. I'll post picts of the trip when I get back! Hope you all have a nice weekend!

More on Culebra

Today I'm sharing with you some more pictures of last weekend's getaway to Culebra. Like I've mentioned before, preparing to go to the beach or a weekend at any beach requires a few simple things, not that they actually need to be simple. For this look I took another oversized blouse as a cover up, but this time decided to wear one with a bold color, electric pink. For this look I added some navy shorts and my trusty Tory Burch ballerinas because we we're going to do other things after the beach, something that's really important when packing for any trip is taking things you know you're comfortable in and feel good in them. Colors are always a great addition to any look; this electric pink blouse matched perfectly with my leopard print bikini and my new tan! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Weekend Getaway to Culebra

Last minute trips are always the best, I don't know if it's because you actually don't plan anything, don't have any expectations or just the fact of spontaneous makes it that more special... My weekend was exactly that... at last minute my boyfriend and I decided to take up the offer of going Culebra with his sister and her husband, and thank god we did. Culebra is an arid municipality of Puerto Rico and has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Flamenco. Needless to say,we stayed at an amazing house with amazing views. For an entire weekend of Island living at its best you just need swimsuits, cover ups, sandals, great shades, some key accessories and great company.

For this post I chose an oversized creme blouse and added this leather Michael Kors belt to add some color and texture, not just have a flowy cover up. These sandals have gone with me to so many trips that I had to bring them; they're perfect for casual day's because they add color to any look.  I really hope you enjoy the pictures! Let me know what you think about this amazing scenery and the look!

Christmas @ the Tropics

If you’re planning to escape the cold weather and come soak up the sun somewhere around the Caribbean here are some of the quintessential items of your suitcase. Maxi dresses in vibrant colors when going to dinner and a drink after. For complete days at the beach theres nothing more than a great bikini ( this Vix Senegal Bikini is one of the most incredible I’ve ever seen) and cover ups. The Billabong cover up has a really hippie chic look perfect for a day soaking up the rays reading a book or your favorite mags, while protecting your face with this great hat. Shoes? These Dolce Vita wedges are perfect, super versatile and during the day you just need these great Tory Burch sandals, btw they come in many colors. Your jewelry should be as effortless as the hair beach look you’ll naturally have, if it’s not as easy to achieve use Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray. The aim in them? Relaxation around a beautiful beach & easy going days.
