Midi skirts have made a huge splash in the fashion scene and for good reasons, they're the epitome of ladylike elegance. One of the wonders of these skirts is that they make your waist look super small and a great way to take advantage of this trait is by wearing it with a tight top. I've been loving the idea of wearing midi skirts for all the holiday parties, I actually wore this one for a beachside wedding not long ago. Adding a sash to any skirt or dress is always a plus, so it's nice to have one in hand. Hope you like this post & have a great weekend!

Las faldas a mitad de pierna han hecho una tremenda entrada y por muy buenas razones, son elegantes y extremadamente femeninas. Una de las mejores cualidades de estas faldas es que hacen que tu cintura se vea más pequeña, y la mejor manera para aprovechar esto es usando una blusa pegada. Ultimamente he estado encantada con la idea de usar estas faldas para las navidades, esta misma la usé hace no tanto para una boda. Tener un sash en mano siempre es muy buena idea, hacen que cualquier falda o traje se vean mil veces mejor. Espero que les guste este look y tengan un fin de semana buenísimo.

Leather & Plaid

This week I worked on two articles, so I spent numerous hours searching trends, different styles and mostly, the clothes that are available right now, and obviously enjoyed every minute of it. Leather and plaid are everywhere, of course, because it's fall, and I couldn't be happier. An all black look is never dull, you can create a difference between the top and the bottom by choosing different materials and textures. For this look I went for the leather skirt and for an Organza top, not only the materials are different, but the finishes and black shades differ, helping create a separation between both. Adding the plaid jacket was a must, it adds color and print to the look. Hope you like this look!

Other leather, or almost leather skirts I'm loving too Asos Quilted, Zara Skirt, Zara Pleated Skirt.


Esta semana trabajé en dos artículos, dedicándole varias horas al research de tendencias, estilos, y selección de ropa disponible, claro, me lo goce todo. El cuero y el plaid están en todas partes, pues por ser otoño. Un look todo negro no tiene que ser aburrido, puedes crear una diferencia entre el top y la parte de abajo escogiendo materiales y texturas diferentes. Para este look escogí una falda de cuero y un top de organdí, no solo los materiales eran diferentes pero las terminaciones y tonos de negros diferían. Añadirle el jacket de plaid fue la forma perfecta para darle más color y estampado al look. Espero que les guste.

The Sweater

Sweaters are no longer just what goes beneath your coat when it's really cold. Thanks to the likes of Kenzo, J. Crew and others, sweaters have become one of the it statement pieces for fall/winter. My favorite way to pair sweaters is with an A-line skirt, I love the contrast between really poised and feminine with the no fuss, laid back nature of the sweater. What's making them pop out so much, is how creative and stylish they've gotten; during fashion week many attendees were rocking one of the many Kenzo options. I decided to include, both, budget friendly and designer choices, there are really great options in all price ranges! Hope you like them!

Los suéteres ya no son solo lo que va debajo de tu abrigo cuando la temperatura está bien fría. Gracias a Kenzo, J. Crew y otros, los suéteres se han convertido en una de las piezas "it" para el otoño/invierno. Mi manera preferida de llevar el suéter es con una falda de tipo A, me encanta el contraste entre lo femenino de la falda y lo suelto y simple del suéter. Lo que los está poniendo en el ojo de todos, es lo creativo y diferente que los están haciendo. En Fashion Week podíamos encontrar varias de las opciones de Kenzo entre las asistentes. Decidí incluir estilos de diseñadores como esos más económicos, hay tremendas opciones en todos los precios. Espero que les guste este post.

Style Inspiration-Plaid

As I said a couple of days ago, one of my favorite fall trends is plaid. I really love that plaid is like a chameleon, you can style it anyway you want. Because it's a fall trend it's not only limited to sweaters, coats and jackets... you can sport it on a skirt, pants, bag or even a hat. I think the best way to draw style ideas is seeing how others styled the trend, so here are some pictures of different fashion week attendees sporting their best plaid ensemble. Como dije hace unos días en un post previo, uno de mis trends preferidos para otoño es el estampado escocés (plaid). Me encanta que este estampado es como un camaleón, lo puedes vestir de cualquier manera. El que sea una tendencia para otoño no significa que se limita a chaquetas, abrigos o suéteres... lo puedes usar en faldas, pantalones, sombreros o en carteras. Siempre he pensado que la mejor inspiración es esa de como otros llevan las tendencias. Espero que les guste el post.

Plaid for Fall

One of my favorite trends for fall is plaid, or should I say the return of plaid... With 90's influence making it's mark on fashion today, it's obvious that one of its main characters would make a splash. Plaid is actually a timeless classic, so if you're not too into the idea of 90's grunge, you can really style it anyway you want to. For this post I kept some of the rocker edge of grunge, but really modernized it by  adding a rather sweet A-line skirt and modern sleek elements. The different colored patterns of the blouse open up the styling options for it, you could pair it with dark denim or a bright pencil skirt! Hope you like this post.

Other items I loved! Stella McCartney & Zara

Uno de mis trends favoritos para el otoño tiene que ser el estampado escoces, o su regreso. Con la moda de los 90 haciendo su marca en la moda de hoy, era solo de esperarse que uno de sus personajes más importante volviera. La realidad del estampado escoces es que es un clásico, así que, si no te encanta el estilo de los 90 lo puedes vestir como desees. Para este post mantuve un poco del elemento rock de los 90 pero lo modernice combinándolo con una falda de tipo A y con elementos modernos. El hecho de que la blusa combina diferentes colores abre las posibilidades para combinarla, la puedes llevar con mahonés oscuros o hasta con una falda pencil de color brillante.
