Celebrating 4th of July

The 4th of July is synonymous with red, white and blue, be it in clothing, decor or food and drinks. It's typical to celebrate this day with friends and family, at the beach, BBQ, watching fireworks or just with company. In honor of celebrating our patriotism on this wonderful day, most of us sport the famous colors in one way or another, some of us may go overboard, covering ourselves with stars and stripes, while other of us might choose to do it in a more subtle way. I prefer the more subtle way of showing your pride, mixing and matching the colors, but still not looking too cheesy, but hey, you should wear whatever makes you happy! For those of you who don't want to look like a walking flag here our some ways to incorporate some 4th of July spirit in a more fashionable way for a day at the beach and a BBQ with friends. Blues & Whites

My parents bought this blouse in St. Thomas over  30 years ago and luckily for me my mom kept it and I happily took ownership of it! Its a bit big on me, but I absolutely love the batik print it has and the different tones of blue. The contrast of the tight skinny jeans with the loose blouse works wonders for an effortless look. I rolled up the sleeves not only for functional reasons ( so they wouldn't reach my elbows), but it adds to the beachy laid back look. For everyday looks I really prefer effortless styles, you know, you can really be yourself when you feel comfortable with what your wearing. I think it's a note to self to store things we really, really like, even though we don't wear them anymore... who knows you could pass it down to your children. Hope you liked the post! Let me know!

Something Blue

I'm not the hugest fan of really tight dresses but when I saw this one I loved the color and print so I couldn't say no. I always try to find clothes that you can change up just by adding other pieces or changing your accessories and shoes and that's exactly what I saw in this dress. I decided on this Tory Burch bag to add a punch of color and to play with the prints of both pieces. Lately I've been all over sandals so when I saw the opportunity to pair them with this dress I couldn't say no but you could definitely use any shoes with this dress.  Hope you enjoy the look!
