Zig-Zag

It's amazing how today was the exact opposite of yesterday's amazing sunny day. Yesterday I was sitting under an umbrella reading and enjoying an amazing sunny day at the beach, but today it was really gloomy, insanely windy and all I wanted was to be covered up. I recently scored this poncho on a sale at BCBG and thought that I wouldn't be using it for some time, but it was the perfect item for today. I love wearing big sweaters or covering up with a huge poncho, but when your look is mainly about one piece it shouldn't be ordinary or boring. This poncho has an amazing finish to it and the zig-zag print brings color and interest to the look. The idea of a poncho brings laid back boho chic to mind and that was exactly what I was going for today. I decided to pair the poncho with my trusty ripped skinny jeans, booties and oversized leather bag; I think that despite the sudden weather change I was still on beach mode and just wanted to be relaxed.  Let me know what you think about the look!

Emerald

Emerald is officially one of the hottest colors for spring, it evokes freshness and newness, so it's no wonder that I was super excited to try out this trend! When trying out this trend you don't have to limit yourself to just Emerald, you can use any variation of this color. I decided on these DKNY pants that have the perfect green hue and they're fit embodies simpleness and ease. I matched them with one of the blouses from the Prabal Gurung Collection for Target, this blouse screams out spring with its mix of vibrant colors and orchids print. I chose to complete the look with this white tasseled clutch to bring out the white of the blouse and use nude sandals to keep with the fresh and simple look! How would you rock the Emerald green trend?

Something Blue

I'm not the hugest fan of really tight dresses but when I saw this one I loved the color and print so I couldn't say no. I always try to find clothes that you can change up just by adding other pieces or changing your accessories and shoes and that's exactly what I saw in this dress. I decided on this Tory Burch bag to add a punch of color and to play with the prints of both pieces. Lately I've been all over sandals so when I saw the opportunity to pair them with this dress I couldn't say no but you could definitely use any shoes with this dress.  Hope you enjoy the look!

A Jewelry Note

Lately all I've been wanting is gold chunky jewelry! I don't change my earrings or necklaces too often so, when I buy everyday jewelry I tend to go for rings and bracelets. I'm really in the multiple rings in a hand look but only when some of them are simple and others more exaggerated. I love finding rings that have some designs to them or that have stones. When it comes to bracelets I like to mix and match. I usually mix multiple thin bracelets with some more structured or larger ones, and I also tend to mix golden ones with silver ones. I really think that gold jewelry usually brings a look up a notch and it gives it an edgier but also organic look. I'm sharing some rings and bracelets I found on Shopbop, J.Crew, Anthropology and Saks. Hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think!

Safari Prints

Mixing prints is an ideal way of giving new life to your wardrobe. This shirt was actually meant for my brother, obviously is was too small and when I saw it I fell in love with its print. I kept the shirt not knowing when I would use it but determined to find a way. I used to wear this skirt with a basic black fitted t-shirt and one day I decided to try them together and loved it. I paired the look with my Calvin Klein sandals that go perfect with the look and used a vintage bag passed done to me by my mom. This look has a safari flair to it because of the printed skirt, gold accented Michael Kors leather belt and vintage bag but tuned down with the shirt. Let me know what you think about the look!!
