Simply Modern

If I had to choose one of my favorite go to looks, it would be skinny jeans and a button down loose blouse. I've been deeply obsessed with buttoned down blouses for some time now, I just love how they can polish any look up. I don't particularly love, love skinny jeans, but I do love the combination of the loose top with the skinny jeans. The skinny jeans and buttoned down blouse combination itself is super versatile, you can have one that's super casual, perfect for taking your dog to the park or one that's really sophisticated for an important dinner or meeting. For today's look I wore a layered necklace and went for sleek pumps and a clutch, to keep the look simple and modern. Hope you like this look.

Si tuviera que escoger un look preferido, tendría que ser la combinación de pantalones skinny y una blusa de botones. Este tipo de blusa me ha encantado por mucho tiempo, el toque sofisticado que le pueden dar a cualquier estilo es perfecto. Los pantalones skinny no es que sean mi pantalón preferido, pero la combinación es perfecta y muy versátil. Puedes tener un look así, perfecto para salir y dar un paseo con tu mascota o uno muy sofisticado, perfecto para una reunión y comida importante. Para este look escogí un collar largo, unos pumps y una cartera de mano, para mantenerlo simple y moderno. Espero que les guste este look.

Emerald

Emerald is officially one of the hottest colors for spring, it evokes freshness and newness, so it's no wonder that I was super excited to try out this trend! When trying out this trend you don't have to limit yourself to just Emerald, you can use any variation of this color. I decided on these DKNY pants that have the perfect green hue and they're fit embodies simpleness and ease. I matched them with one of the blouses from the Prabal Gurung Collection for Target, this blouse screams out spring with its mix of vibrant colors and orchids print. I chose to complete the look with this white tasseled clutch to bring out the white of the blouse and use nude sandals to keep with the fresh and simple look! Welcoming the 2013

How do we welcome the new 2013? Do you believe in the infamous “how you start this year could define the rest of it?” or are you more of the “it’s just another day in the calendar”. I’ve never pondered this before but I definitely tried to start the year of with the right foot in terms of style and actions. On January 1^st I wore my favorite Zara striped pants with a geometrical print top and Christian Siriano platforms.

I’ve never worn too much lipstick and have always been told by my grandmother “pintate los labios” which is Spanish for “paint your lips” (this is the literal translation).  So, with this in mind I bought a great Dior red lipstick which I haven’t stopped using since I bought it a couple of days ago, I’m beginning to think it might be addictive.  In terms of accessories I went light on my jewelry with really thin gold hoop earrings, Michelle watch and gold bracelet which my mother lent me only under her watchful eye.  I decided to go light on the jewelry because of the print mixing I used. And last but certainly not least I wore a DKNY leather bag which certainly gave the look a luxurious touch and texture.
