Spring/Summer Necessities

Schutz Frederica Embroidered Espadrilles,Soludos x We Are Handsome Espadrilles,Red Lips-ID Etsy Shop,Trailin Divis Tote Bag-Billabong,Karen Walker Shades,Zara Tropical Scarf

After spending the afternoon admiring all the amazing flowers at Macy's Secret Garden Flower Show I left feeling like I had actually been outside surrounded by an amazing landscape! So, since Spring is already among us and Summer is quite near I wanted to share my Spring/Summer obsessions.

Espadrilles are everywhere, and I mean everywhere. You can find them in all colors and prints, some with platforms and others in a flat version, like the ones I chose. I love these Mexican inspired ones by Schutz, but I'm super obsessed with these palm tree print ones... You can take the girl out of the Island, but not the Island vibe out of the girl. I can just see these looking amazing with white jeans, ripped shorts and skirts, I'm sure they'll be my go to shoe for the entire season.

Huge shades are ideal for the sunnier days to come, and a lighter scarf will come in handy! Choosing one with great colors & prints will automatically add so much personality to anything. The bucket bag is really trending and it's really a classic option, but like summer days always include beach days a big tote is a must! Layering delicate necklaces is always my go to, and even more so when the weather is warm, Red Lips-ID is an Etsy shop with amazing necklaces and they all go great together, and you really can't beat the prices!

Hope you like my picts & share your own must haves!

Under $100 Statement Jewelry

Happy Thanksgiving to all, hope you spend it with your closest ones and enjoy every minute of it. I wanted to share with you some great statement jewelry options that won't break the bank. Statement jewelry can sometimes keep us thinking about it twice, should we really spend so much in something we probably won't use as much... There's no doubt that a great statement necklace can make your outfit so much more striking, or those great earrings that are the perfect touch for a super classy look.  Hope you like these options!

Let me know, & once again Happy Thanksgiving!

Me dejan saber y nuevamente... Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias.

Handbags for Fall

Handbags play a vital role in our every day life, carrying some of our most treasured items, from that makeup we swear by to that cellphone that has our entire day planned out. We probably might pay to much attention to what bag we're carrying, because, basically it's just something to carry are "stuff" in, right? No! That's completely not right. Personally, handbags are the most important accessory in an entire look, they say so much about a person's style and personality that it's not even funny. With Fall lurking right around the corner I've been thinking about what bags would be perfect to receive this season with a bang!
The bags that I'm coveting for this upcoming Fall are two completely different styles. One is really sophisticated, super simplistic modern style, while the other one is that every day leather bag you'll take with you, literally everywhere. You could very well find them in two totally different closets of two very different women or you could also find both of them in one closet. What bag are you needing for this upcoming fall?

Let me know what you think!

Summer Accessories- Scarves

Layering get's pretty difficult during summer, it can be really hot during the day and then get cooler at night, what's a girl to do? Should we carry a jacket with us during the entire day, so when it gets cooler we're literally covered? In more realistic terms, a scarf is a great accessory to have during summer, it creates the effect of layering and you can add a real statement to your wardrobe with it. I usually choose  scarves that have either a bold print, bright colors or embellishments, or all three in one if you find it. Scarves are a great option to cover up for summer because they're light enough to have during the day, but you can wrap yourself with them when it gets cooler, and if the day has been super warm you can easily fold and store it inside your bag. The versatility that scarves offer is another pro in owning one, you can go for a really laid back look by pairing it with shorts or a short summer dress or dress it up for a more fashionable look with skinny jeans and a great jacket, plus you can have them almost all year round. Hope you liked this post!

Electric Pink

I usually tend to stay in the neutral tones or black & white, so I've found myself trying to add a little color to my outfits. I recently bought this hot pink blouse and immediately loved it because of its relax fit and its electric look. Today I was going for a more casual look so I paired the blouse with my skinny Mango black jeans, grey peep toe booties and Alexander McQueen clutch. I loved how the clutch toned down the look but at the same time gave it more interest with the dragon fly print. I think that sometimes separating from your dressing routine brings joy to your day, at least I know this hot pink blouse definitely gave my day a kick. Hope you enjoyed the look! Let me know what you think!

DIY Headdresses

I've been liking headdresses for some time now; I just like how they can finish a look or give it that extra touch. I must admit that I occasionally, or more than I would like to admit enter Jenny Packham's website and oh & ah over the beautiful and detailed headdresses, it kind of transmits me to another time where everything was so detail oriented. Getting back to the task at hand... I decided that I would try to do my own headdress and share with you the process. It's really simple to do and a bit time consuming, but it's worth it! I hope you enjoy this post! Let me know what you think!

Materials  you'll need:
1. Sewing needles
2. Securing needles
3. Scissors
4. Measuring Tape
5. Thread (match the color to your ribbon)

6. Ribbon ( I used a black one with satin finish)
7. Elastic band
8. Beaded Appliqué (you can find it at a fabric store)

Steps:

1. Measure your head's circumference & write it down
2. Measure from ear to ear (or until you desire the appliqué to reach) & cut the appliqué; write down the measurement
3. Cut the ribbon 4 inches more than the length of the appliqué. Cut a small strand of the elastic band, enough to attach to the ribbon and achieve a tight but comfortable fit.

4.Attach the elastic band to the ribbon with the securing needles

5. With the needles secure the appliqué to the ribbon, leaving 2 inches of excess to each side. This is to ease the process of sewing the appliqué to the ribbon and to achieve better precision.

6. Sew the appliqué to the ribbon. I sewed the appliqué on the upper and bottom side to make sure it was really secured and wouldn't fall.

7. Take one of the ends of the ribbon and fold in half (as seen in the picture), and sew, as to create a seam.

8. Fold a second time, but this time with the elastic band within it. Secure with the needle and sew. I began to sew from the corner and continued to the other side, reinforcing the area with the elastic. I also sewed the sides of the ribbon to secure the entire area. Repeat for the other side.

9. The folded area with the elastic will be a little flappy, so take that area and attach it to the exposed elastic and sew again (repeat for the other side). This step is more for aesthetics reasons.

And Vuala! you have finished your headdress! This headdress can be worn two ways... see the pictures of the finished product and ideas of how you can wear it!

Casual Saturday

Whoever said that wearing a white t-shirt meant being "under dressed" or "too plain". There's no doubt about it, t-shirts be it solid colors, graphic T's, fitted or loose are a closet staple! I love wearing white t-shirts and dressing them up or down; you can pair them with your favorite shorts and ballerinas and they're perfect for going out for coffee or you can wear them with a great pair of skinny jeans, pumps and accessories and it's perfect for a night on the town. When I find a T-shirt that I really like I usually buy more than one and sometimes buy them a size up to achieve a surfer chic look. I paired my new white T-shirt with a pair of skinny black jeans, platforms, and a simple modern gold necklace, it gives for a casual but stylish look. What really finishes the look is the necklace, it's really simple but very bold. BTW, this is my cat Mostachio.  Let me know what you think about the look!

Wearable Art- Statement Necklaces

With the Christmas season officially in sight the party invitations begin to roll. Unless you have an infinite wardrobe you must repeat some dresses; be it last Christmas party or the Christmas before that. Get your inner stylist out! The trick is to change it up and that’s where the statement necklaces come in hand and the closet staple, a basic timeless dress.

A statement necklace can make last year dress this year’s “new” dress. A glorious gold necklace can make any LBD a stunning LBD; be it completely gold with a hammered finish or with crystals or gems. A red dress could look marvelous with various lengthy necklaces, especially ones with a Turkish flair from the Bazaar and a green dress would look spectacular with a short necklace full of colorful semiprecious jewels.

The best thing? You don’t have to break the bank for this. Here I leave you with some of my personal necklaces & other that I just love!
