Spring/Summer Necessities

Schutz Frederica Embroidered Espadrilles,Soludos x We Are Handsome Espadrilles,Red Lips-ID Etsy Shop,Trailin Divis Tote Bag-Billabong,Karen Walker Shades,Zara Tropical Scarf

After spending the afternoon admiring all the amazing flowers at Macy's Secret Garden Flower Show I left feeling like I had actually been outside surrounded by an amazing landscape! So, since Spring is already among us and Summer is quite near I wanted to share my Spring/Summer obsessions.

Espadrilles are everywhere, and I mean everywhere. You can find them in all colors and prints, some with platforms and others in a flat version, like the ones I chose. I love these Mexican inspired ones by Schutz, but I'm super obsessed with these palm tree print ones... You can take the girl out of the Island, but not the Island vibe out of the girl. I can just see these looking amazing with white jeans, ripped shorts and skirts, I'm sure they'll be my go to shoe for the entire season.

Huge shades are ideal for the sunnier days to come, and a lighter scarf will come in handy! Choosing one with great colors & prints will automatically add so much personality to anything. The bucket bag is really trending and it's really a classic option, but like summer days always include beach days a big tote is a must! Layering delicate necklaces is always my go to, and even more so when the weather is warm, Red Lips-ID is an Etsy shop with amazing necklaces and they all go great together, and you really can't beat the prices!

Hope you like my picts & share your own must haves!

Making It Feel Like Spring

I'm still pretty new at this whole thing of seasons changing, I had always heard that Puerto Rico has yearlong summer weather.... totally understand it now. I'm sure I share with everyone my yearning for warmer days since Spring seems to be making us wait for her presence. I guess the best way to fill the streets and our lives with the slowly but surely arrival of Spring is by filling our houses/apts/rooms with beautiful flowers and adding much needed color to our looks.

Yellow is one of biggest colors for Springs and I'm totally obsessed with it right now. It's definitely a feel good color and it makes a great entrance. Pastels are always perfect for Spring, so matching this bright yellow skirt with this lilac top will perfectly balance the look and make it super feminine. I went for this Loeffler Randall bag in a mint color which looks great with both lilac and yellow, the black detailing is the perfect way to integrate the black sandals, and tie everything together. Oversized sunglasses are always my favorite, and I think we can all agree that Tom Ford makes some of the best out there.

So... maybe it still doesn't really feel like Spring, but there are some flowers blooming around, so lets just pretend it really feels like Spring until it arrives!

Hope you like this look!

Flor

Bonjour Paris!

I'm not sure if menswear can meet womenswear in a more perfect and effortless way. Nina Ricci's Spring collection is ideal, really feminine and delicate, but with evident masculine touches. The menswear inspiration can mostly be seen on the tops, my favorite look is the shirtdress above, it's like wearing your boyfriends work shirt, but ten times more chic, it's actually one of my favorite Fashion Week pieces. This collection wasn't one of really bright colors, but all the details in it more than made up for it, plus I love all white! Hope you like this post!

Let me know.

Me dejan saber.

Uplifting

There's something about the color yellow that can make any day into a good day. As I was writing this post I couldn't help but to think about color psychology, in a marketing point of view yellow translates warmth, cheerfulness, and it's uplifting and illuminating; I think we all definitely need more yellow in our lives. I decided to pair the blouse with these white skinny's that compliment the white details of the print; adding another color in such a large amount would have resulted in drowning the yellow. Another great option for this blouse would have been wide leg jeans. Even though I wanted the blouse to be the primordial color I still wanted to add a bit more of color, so I went for this purplish-wine colored bag that works perfectly with the yellow. I definitely could have tackled the worst day with this bright look! Hope you like it!

Let me know.

Concept Bags

I've been crazy over these bags since I saw them, and I decided to call them concept bags. They're ideal! Definitely the coolest camera bag I've ever seen and the chicest picnic basket ever to exist, and the best part besides being functional in what they're supposed to be, you can use them as bags if you wish.  Spring and summer are the best times to be outside enjoying our surroundings, so I created a look perfect for a picnic and another one ideal for an afternoon of photography.

Picnics bring such a romantic notion to my mind, they're like taking childhood memories and bringing them to life. They could probably be one of the most thoughtful dates one could have. This Kate Spade bag is so reminiscent of the brand, it's fun and different, but still very classy, so I wanted to create a look that was fitting for it. I went for a 50's inspired look, with the full skirt and feminine top, but added a modern twist to the idea with the Panama Hat. Definitely this is not you're last minute ham & cheese sandwiches picnic, this is like a full blown planned to the nth detail type of picnic.

This Rebecca Minkoff bag must be one of the wittiest things out there, it's a functional camera bag that can double as the perfect crossbody bag for any trip. If that's not enough by itself, they come in other colors and a larger size; I think I just found my crucial must have for summer! For this look I imagined an afternoon of taking pictures, so I went for a functional/comfortable look, but still really chic. I chose a bright color for the bag because it works perfectly for spring and summer. Keeping in tune with the bright color, I went for bold floral pattern shorts that work for an entire afternoon of adventuring around, while looking extremely stylish. Since the flats are also a big statement, the blouse works as a neutral piece in the look which keeps it from looking to over the top.

Hope you like these looks!

Mixing Prints

I'm always up for the opportunity of playing with prints, and I couldn't wait to match this tribal inspired printed skirt with these bleeding polka dots. When you're mixing prints it's important to achieve an effortless effect, you want things to flow and not seem forced, in this case the beige color of the blouse helped more than I could've imagined in pulling the prints together. Since the skirt is pretty short and the heels are really high, the long sleeves balance the look out and help preventing the look from turning slutty-ish. Hope you like this look!

Let me know what you think!

Organic Printed

Maxi's are a perfect go to when the temperature begins to get warmer, they exude that easy relaxed nature that one tends to assimilate with spring and summer. You can make a maxi dress work for colder spring days with a nice scarf or light jacket and wear it during summer without them. I found this maxi dress and immediately fell in love with its print, the others I have tend to be more on the indian inspired prints and this mix of graphic and reptile was a nice change without it being overwhelming. I wanted to highlight the bottom detailing, so I added a pop of color with the orange scarf and the purple bag.

Let me know what you think about this look!

Airiness

I spotted this BCBG blouse some time ago and I've paired it with everything from skinny jeans to wide leg jeans, today I chose this skirt. Even though I'm pretty petite I love wearing loose and big blouses like this one, I always wear them with high heels or platforms like these to balance the look . I not only fell in love with the blouse because of it's construction but it has this great geometric print that contrasts perfectly with the water color feeling it has. Looks like this one are perfect for spring or welcoming summer because of their airiness and carefree style.  I always try to find items like this blouse, that I know I'll be able to wear with different things and achieve completely different looks.

Let me know what you think!

Simple & Detailed

Yesterday I was going to an early dinner next to the beach, it had rained quite a lot during the afternoon so it was pretty chilly outside. I went for a really relaxed look with this white dress and fringed flats that would work perfectly for a quick stroll around the beach, but also appropriate for a nice time at night. I borrowed this necklace from my mom, I love how it's really detailed but at the same time it has a simple and relaxed nature, it really completed the look. I added this jacket to help me keep warm and the contrast between this flowy, crochet top dress and army-ish inspired jacket is perfect. Hope you like this look! Let me know what you think!
