The Casual Weekend Look

As you can see from the photos, the setting was very much an adventure, and the look... super casual. A great way to make any casual look more interesting is by adding a statement piece, for this look the statement piece was the shirt. The print of this shirt instantly makes the look more eye catching. I decided to play off the shirt's color and went for these Ikat inspired espadrilles in red, orange and white. I'm a huge fan of braids, and they're definitely a must for Summer. A braided crown always looks really feminine with a boho twist to it; it's also, another way to make your casual look more stylish. Como pueden ver por las fotos, el local fue todo una aventura y el look, muy casual. Hay muchas maneras para hacer el look más casual verse interesante. Para este look, la pieza clave fue la blusa, su estampado automáticamente llama la atención. Quise jugar con los colores de la blusa y escogí estas alpargatas en un estampado de Ikat. Recogernos el pelo en verano es súper común y una de mis maneras favoritas de hacerlo es con trenzas. Una corona trenzada logra un look femenino con un toque bohemian y es otra manera de hacer este look casual más llamativo. Espero que les guste este look.

An Unexpected Place With Edge

Black skinny jeans paired with a graphic t-shirts makes wonders. It's actually such a laid back no fuss look, but because of the graphics of the t-shirt it automatically looks edgy and full of style. I could definitely add a cool jacket and a pair of pumps to add a sophisticated touch to the look. This location was ridiculously random, I was going for a late lunch with my boyfriend when we passed by a place that we've passed a million times before and he pointed out that it would make a great space to take pictures, have to give it to him... he was totally correct! La combinación entre unos mahones skinny negro y una t-shirt con diseños es magnífica. En realidad este look es uno muy simple pero el hecho de que la t-shirt tenga unas gráficas tan llamativas le da un toque "edgy" al look inmediatamente. Si quisiera darle un toque sofisticado añadiría un jacket y unos tacones al look. La ubicación de estas fotos fue una súper interesante, iba de camino a almorzar con mi novio y pasamos por un sitio que hemos pasado miles de veces antes, pero esta vez el me dijo que sería un sitio estupendo para tomar fotos, y tengo que dárselo, para mí quedaron tremendas. A Little Color & Print

I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to storing my coat, gloves, rain boots and all the layers. Im a huge fan of bold prints and one of Spring's trends is all about tribal prints, and I couldn't be more exited! In part I'm excited for a little warmer weather so I can throw a cool jacket over my look and finally add colors to my style again. I'm a huge black & white combination freak, but I'm starting to miss the color accents. I'm obsessed with all the jackets in this post, but the first two are Billabong and they have amazing prices, which is making them even more attractive, at least for me. Hope you like this post!

 Bueno... estoy segura que no estoy sola cuando digo que estoy loca por guardar mi abrigo, guantes, botas y todas las capas que llevo usando a diario. Ya saben que me fascinan los estampados y una de las tendencias para esta primavera son los estampados tribales, el cual me tiene muy contenta. Una de las razones que estoy esperando un poco de calor es para poder llevar un jacket con mucho carácter sobre mi look. Me encantan todos los jackets que incluí en este post pero los primeros dos son Billabong y tienen unos precios súper buenos. Espero que les gusten.

Casual With An Edge

Finally! I hate that I'm not posting as frequently as I use to, but it'll be back to normal as soon as I get use to my new schedule. Obviously these pictures were taken while I was still in Puerto Rico, hence warm weather! I've never been looking so forward to Spring as I am right no, it's definitely easy to take seasons for granted when you live in the tropics.

 Anyway back to the look, I love simple casual wear, but I always try to take it up a notch. For this look I decided to add these sandals and a leather envelope, I really love how the envelope adds a bit of an edge to the look. The white skinny jeans were a great way to highlight the lighter tones of the blouse, giving it a more relaxed vibe. Hope you like this look!

¡Por fin estoy posteando! Con este horario nuevo no he podido escribir casi, pero ya pronto me acostumbro y vuelvo a la normalidad. Estas fotos las tomamos cuando todavía estaba en Puerto Rico, me he dado cuenta que nunca había estado esperando tanto la primavera como lo hago aquí, definitivamente estaba muy mal acostumbrada. 

Me encanta los looks casuales y simples, pero siempre trato de añadirle un toque diferente. Para este look decidí añadirle estas sandalias en color neutral y un sobre de cuero, de verdad que me encanta como el sobre de cuero le añade un poco de "edge" al look. Escogí estos mahones blanco para resaltar los tonos claros de la blusa y así darle una vibra más relajada. Espero que les guste este look.

Island Time/City Time

I bought this sweater for my move to New York, but was delighted to find out it worked perfectly for the cool days in Puerto Rico. Obviously, here in New York I'm wearing it with a layer underneath and like 2 over it, it was much more simpler to style for this look. I loved the off-white color of this sweater, it gives it a more laid-back feeling than a crisp white would. I've been crazy over my new Longchamp bag which was a Christmas presernt from by boyfriend, I'm obsessed with Longchamp's understated elegance. Hope you like this look!

Inicialmente compré este sweater para mi vida en Nueva York pero me encantó descubrir que también funcionaba perfectamente para los días frescos en Puerto Rico. Definitivamente fue más simple llevarlo en Puerto Rico, ya que acá lo llevo con 1 capa por debajo y como 2 por encima. Una de las cosas que más me gustó del sweater fue su color blanco-cremoso, le da un toque relajado y simple. He estado totalmente enamorada de mi cartera nueva la cual fue un regalo de navidades de mi novio, siempre me ha fascinado la elegancia de los bolsos Longchamp. Espero que les guste este post.

Perfect Island Life Weekend

I know I've been missing from the blog for some time, but I'm back now. I just moved to New York from Puerto Rico, and it's been an interesting couple of days. I thought that this would be the perfect post, because the weather here is the exact same opposite. We took these pictures, like 5 days before I left and seriously, it was such an amazing day. I'm already missing my usuals, shorts, easy going tops, loose flowy hair and of course, my ever present tan. This day I went around Rincon with my boyfriend (& photographer) taking it all in, from the amazing views of the sea from the mountains to the up close version, so an easy going outfit was a must. 

I'm really excited about my new adventure here in New York; I'll be posting a couple of more pictures we took before I left P.R. and then I'll definitely begin to post others, from here in New York.

Mil disculpas que he estado muy alejada del blog, acabo de mudarme a Nueva York y estos han sido unos días muy interesantes. Pensé que este post sería perfecto para poner ya que el clima acá es totalmente opuesto al de Puerto Rico. Estas fotos las tomamos como 5 días antes de irme de Puerto Rico y el día fue una belleza. Definitivamente tengo que reconocer que ya me hacen falta mi piezas de todos los días como los shorts, camisas sueltas, el pelo suelto y ondulado, y pues claro... mi tan. Ese día fui con mi novio (y fotógrafo) por todo Rincon, desde las montañas para ver la vista al mar a la playa, por lo que un look relajado fue muy importante.

Estoy muy emocionada de mi nueva aventura acá en Nueva York. Estaré subiendo otras fotos que tomamos antes de irme, pero después pondré otras que sean de acá.

The Red Touch

Good morning! My last two post have been definitely on the dressier side, so for this post I wanted to go for a casual look. When I saw this blouse I went crazy over it, so much so that I bought my mom the same one. The sheerness of this blouse makes the styling options endless, you can go for a super casual look like mine or pair with a great pencil skirt for a more polished look. I love being able to pull off simple looks that make a statement, even though the look is almost all-black the blouse really makes the different. Hope you have an amazing weekend & like this look!

¡Buenos días! Mis últimos post han sido un poco más en el lado de lo formal por lo que quise ir por uno casual para este post. Me volví loca con esta blusa desde el momento que la vi, me gustó tanto que  decidí regalarle una a mi mamá. El detalle transparente de la blusa le brinda muchísimas oportunidades de usar, puedes ir por un look casual o usarla con una falda tipo pencil para un look sofisticado. Aunque el look es casi todo negro el detalle de la flor y el rojo de la blusa hacen toda la diferencia. Espero que tengan un buen fin de semana y que les guste este look.

Giving It A Modern Twist

 

Tutu skirts have been huge lately and they were on my Holiday dressing list of must haves and still are. A full skirt cinched at the waist has an automatic flair of vintage femininity and usually I would take advantage of this and keep within that style. For this look I really wanted to give it a modern twist. Adding animal print, or in this case a reptile print, is a perfect way to give anything a more modern and edgy touch. Adding a great belt would have given the look a more casual touch, making it super versatile. Hope you have an amazing day & like this look!

Las faldas tipo tutú han sido una gran sensación y definitivamente están en mi lista de must haves. Cuando una falda es voluminosa y ceñida en la cintura, automáticamente tiene un aire vintage y muy femenino. Para este look le quise dar un toque moderno a la falda. Añadir un estampado de piel de animal o de reptil, le da un toque moderno a cualquier cosa. Una manera de darle más carácter a este look hubiese sido con una correa grande, cual lo hubiese hecho más casual también  Espero que tenga un buen día y que les guste este look.

From Head to Toe

There's something about wearing all black, that I find is fierce and sexy, but in a subtle and simple way. I had been looking for a blouse like this for a long time; it's definitely a must to have. You can wear alone, as I did in this look or you can layer a jacket over it, and it's really versatile, you can wear it casual or in a dressier style. I've always thought that a great red lip is the best accessory for an all black look, it's that punch of color that ties it all together. Hope you like this look.

Siempre he pensando que un look todo negro da un toque de seguridad y sexy, pero de una manera sutil. Llevaba buscando una blusa como esta por muchísimo tiempo, y pienso que es muy crucial en cualquier closet. La blusa es súper simple y versátil, la puedes llevar sola como hice para este look o con un jacket, de manera muy casual o para un look más vestido. Uno labios rojos siempre han sido el mejor accesorio para un look todo negro. Espero que les guste este look.

Simple & Bohemian

I've seen my collection of simple white tops grow little by little, and the thing is, I think you can never have enough of this staple item. They look great with just jeans and a jacket, but they also make the perfect backdrop for other, more extravagant pieces. These shorts have an amazing print, with beads detailing the edge of the pattern; I've worn them with dressier tops for more "fancier" occasions, but decided on this top to make it relax weekend appropriate. 

Since the shorts have a bohemian flair, I added these wooden bead necklaces that have the coolest tassels. I went for a simple understated leather bag, to keep within the style, but loved that the booties gave it an unexpected twist. Hope you like this look!

He visto como mi colección de blusas blancas ha crecido con el tiempo, pero pienso que nunca serán suficientes. Estas blusas, súper simples, se ven tan bien con mahones y un jacket, como con piezas que visten más. Estos pantalones cortos tienen un estampado espectacular y canutillos que van por el borde del mismo. Los he llevado con blusas finas para ocasiones donde tengo que vestir más, pero los quise usar para el fin de semana, por lo que escogí algo más simple con que llevarlo.

Como estos pantalones tienen un toque bohemio, quise ir por detalles simples para el resto, escogiendo estos collares de madera con "tassels" y un bolso de cuero color crema. Para darle un toque inesperado al look me fuí con estos booties grises como detalle final.
