As I was immersing myself in Marie Claire's September issue, while patiently waiting for a doctors appointment I stumbled upon a fragment mentioning Zooey Deschanel's fun nails, which got me thinking about how nails have become such a spotlight, even having a "mani cam" when E covers the red carpets. It has always baffled me how these nail artists can get so many details into such a small space, and as crazy as some may seem they always look perfectly done. Personally, I like more simple art choices, dark colors and classic red, but either way I love this craze and that everyone from artists, to athletes, to basically anyone is onboard. Right now I'm really loving the metallic colors, especially gold. The extent of this nail craze is so evident that you don't even have to go to a nail salon, even major beauty brands like Essie are selling really cool at-home kits and new color options. Laid-Back Style

If I had to summarize my favorite style it would definitely be an effortless combination of solids, prints and textures, with a laid-back touch. Skirts have been pretty much of a necessity during this very warm summer. I think that prints and colors help boost your mood when you think you just can't handle it anymore and you'd much prefer to go out in your undies than lay any layer of clothing on you! Today I was going for a really relaxed look that I knew I could spend the entire day in without wanting to change into something more comfortable later. I chose the loose top because it's super comfortable, but was sure to add the belt which is an extremely easy way to add details to your look, and I know you're probably wondering how could I be in these shoes the entire day, but they're reasonably comfortable because the heel is pretty chunky which makes it super easy to walk in. Pom Poms & Colors

Keeping in tune with yesterday's line of thought of trying not to melt, today I sported a short dress, which I usually wear as a cover up, but opted to match with shorts for today. Summer dresses are always fun, you can choose them either really sophisticated or with a slightly bohemian/surfer flair. I decided on the belt to add some structure to the dress, it's like a sack inspired dress and for the beach it's perfect, but I wanted something more for today. I know I've said it like a million times, but neutral tone shoes are a great way to elongate the figure and when your pretty short, that's a super important must! The necklaces were the finishing touch in this look, they added a fun, different texture and a lot of color, and the bag is my favorite thing right now, so obsessed with the shape and neon trimmings! Florals & Fringes

Lately, all I've been wanting are bright colors, prints and textures, anything that looks like a world traveler would have in their closet. I saw this fringed cardigan that's inspired in a spanish shawl in Zara and fell in love with it. It has so many possibilities, like throwing it over your bikini or pairing it with shorts and nice flats for a very hippie-ish look; it's a great summer staple. I went for a really easy and relaxed look, ideal for starting the long weekend. All I wanted to stand out was the fringed cardigan, so I kept the blouse and accessories within the color pallet of the cardigan, and chose my ripped jeans to complete the casual style. The fringe clutch I thought could be like an overkill, but I liked how it complimented the overall look, possibly the color is what helped it blend in. Hope you like it!

Tribal Inspired

I've been seeing so many ethnic inspired pieces lately that I couldn't help but to be inspired by them. When I'm not sporting black and white, I'm usually in neutral tones, I know some say they're boring, but the trick is to add some statement pieces. Going back to the ethnic inspired part, this blouse has a great mix between the floral and tribal art print, and it has an amazing beaded detailed neckline. I wanted to compliment the style of the blouse and at the same time add some more color to the look, this necklace, which is really meant to be a belt keeps in line with the ethnic vibe, but adds texture and interest to the look with it's embellishment, bright colors and rope detailing. This look is really built on neutral tones, but it has texture, color and prints to make it anything, but boring. Hope you like this post!
