The Pear

Winter time is finally beginning to be felt here in Puerto Rico, we're having great sunny and breezy days, perfect for a light sweater. I  scored this little number at J.Crew's black friday sale, I'm obsessed with fun and quirky sweaters.Yellow and purple make a great bright combination, so I thought this skirt would be the perfect match for the sweater, plus the zipper details add an unexpected edgy twist to the look! Hope you like this look & have a great weekend!

The Perfect Match

I love the contrast between this light, flowy skirt and this super cozy sweater. It's amazing that both pieces are so different, the skirt is super busy with color and print while the top is really simple and understated, but they are perfect for each other. The checkered effect, which is repeated in both of them is what really ties both pieces together. Hope you like this look!

Fierce Print

I always thought that these type of blouses were reserved for the office only, I had this preconceived idea that they were too boring and stiff to be worn anywhere else, but obviously I learned, that this is not so. This blouse for example, looks anything but boring, it's made of a softer material which helps it look more versatile and it has a super modern and eye catching print. Pairing it with this bright orange skirt brought more life to the look and the platforms gave for a more casual and friendly look. Button-down blouses have become a staple in my closet, knowing how to take advantage of their versatile nature opens up a lot of styling options. There are always really business attire oriented ones, but finding ones with a great print, bright colors or modern fit will be perfect to style up or down. I can definitely see myself styling this blouse with black denim shorts for a super casual look or with sleek pants for a more office friendly version. Hope you like this look!

Laid-Back Style

If I had to summarize my favorite style it would definitely be an effortless combination of solids, prints and textures, with a laid-back touch. Skirts have been pretty much of a necessity during this very warm summer. I think that prints and colors help boost your mood when you think you just can't handle it anymore and you'd much prefer to go out in your undies than lay any layer of clothing on you! Today I was going for a really relaxed look that I knew I could spend the entire day in without wanting to change into something more comfortable later. I chose the loose top because it's super comfortable, but was sure to add the belt which is an extremely easy way to add details to your look, and I know you're probably wondering how could I be in these shoes the entire day, but they're reasonably comfortable because the heel is pretty chunky which makes it super easy to walk in. Hope you like this look!

Tropical Feel

Today, as I was stepping out for a lunch date with friends I snapped a couple of pictures of what I was wearing. I bought this skirt on my last trip to Zara, I loved it's tropical feel and knew it would be the perfect piece to pack for weekend getaways during summer. This skirt works perfectly with heeled sandals, like I wore it for a lunch date or pair it with ballet flats for a more comfortable look, ideal for sightseeing or shopping. I know temperatures have been crazy all over, but summer is supposed to be hot, so finding pieces like this skirt would make dressing for warm days extremely easy and fashionable. Hope you like it!

Punch of Colors

Today was a super long day that started with a 7 :30 AM morning run and followed by a couple of errands. Days here have been crazy, with extremely hot temperatures and then intense rains; I decided to dress accordingly for the warm temperature. I went for a great summer look that could transition from a nice casual lunch to running some errands, like I did today. The outfit is centered in warm tones, so I decided to add colors and textures through the ballet flats and the bag. A bag like this one is perfect for easy laid back looks, it works wonders for traveling or putting a towel and a great book and heading  to the beach. I'm so excited for bright colors and bold prints for summer!  Hope you like this look!

Mixing Prints

I'm always up for the opportunity of playing with prints, and I couldn't wait to match this tribal inspired printed skirt with these bleeding polka dots. When you're mixing prints it's important to achieve an effortless effect, you want things to flow and not seem forced, in this case the beige color of the blouse helped more than I could've imagined in pulling the prints together. Since the skirt is pretty short and the heels are really high, the long sleeves balance the look out and help preventing the look from turning slutty-ish. Hope you like this look!
