New York Fashion Week-Runway

With New York Fashion Week already rolling, and numerous fashion shows already presented and many more on their way, I took the time to really soak in the collections, setting aside the hype and the glamour of this wonderful week. One of the biggest surprise for me was Tommy Hilfiger's collection, I think I refound my youthful love for this brand with this collection. I've always known that they have an athletic touch to their clothes, but I just love the wetsuit inspired pieces, with such a laid back, no fuss beach style with really strong colors, and not to mention that the sandy boardwalk was such a nice unexpected setting for the city. I've seen other wetsuit inspired pieces that I really wouldn't wear, but these pieces have enough of a wetsuit sense, but really stylish.

Another collection where I could literally pick things off the runway and add them to my everyday wardrobe would be BCBG Max Azria's. I loved the pale colors, long and loose aesthetic of their clothes; this collection is really stylish, but with a "I just threw this on" vibe. It's really inspiring seeing runway collections that manage to be fashion forward and really wearable at the same time. Something that I try to infuse to my own style is not over thinking about what I'm wearing, because it does translate, and this collection is the epitome of this.

With Peter Som's collection I came to the conclusion that I'm really leaning toward that easy vibe style. This collection was also inspired by that beachy-surfer vibe, and probably, being an Island girl myself I'm naturally drawn to this, but this collection manages to mix prints and modern touches without loosing the essence which inspired it. There are still many other collections to look at, so I'll be posting more insights of the collections I like! Hope you like this post!

Let me know what you think!

Xo,
Flor
