Tuesday Inspiration

In a couple of weeks I'll be headed back to New York, and as excited as I am to keep writing this new chapter in my life, I'll definitely miss home. Since I won't be able to have that relaxed, island vibe in NYC, I'm going to make it a mission to make my apartment feel as close as possible to everything I love in Puerto Rico. Many important people in my life adore plants, so that will be one of the first things my apartment will need. As I've mentioned a million times before, I love simplicity, not in the sense of modern, simple lines, but as a relaxed and easy going essence. As you can see from the pictures, I gravitate towards a neutral palette with some punches of colors and prints, and I already have a Peruvian rug that will work as a statement piece. Even though I'll be miles away from my happy place (Rincón), I'll try to make my apartment as beachy as possible, even though I'll be in a city. Hope you like this post!

Greenish

As you've probably noticed already, I like going for a casual and relax style, but I always try to add a detail that spruces it up a bit. For today's look I decided on this coral reef inspired necklace to add some interest to the look. A necklace like this one adds a lot of character to any look, because it actually imitates something real, plus the white splash was a great contrast with the green. I went for these green skinnies to keep with the easygoing vibe, and just cuffed them on the bottom and matched with these black booties. Remember, casual and relaxed doesn't mean it has to look unthought or lazy, you can make it whatever you wish! Hope you like this post!

Me dejan saber.

The Special Touch

Basic pieces can be the one of the strongest fundaments for an amazing effortless look. We all need to have those go to pants in which we feel unstoppable, while knowing we look amazing, even if we're going to the supermarket or a casual meeting. A top is equally as important, either if it's a t-shirt or a fancy blouse, we all have pieces that just make us feel confident. For today, I chose basic pieces and color combination, but added that special touch with this printed jacket. I always think that it's important to look like everything has been well thought, but not forced and adding a jacket like this is a clever way to give a rather basic look, color and print and make it anything but "basic". What are your go to pieces?! Hope you like this look.

Let me know what you think!

Orange Punch

I've had this skirt for the longest time, and I'm just as crazy over its tribal print as I was when I bought it. Today, I decided to go for red and oranges, but I've matched it before with white, black and red, I haven't tried it with blue or green, but those will definitely be my next styling options for this skirt. I tend to always use a solid colored top with this skirt and let the print be the statement, but I've used different style tops, like t-shirts, tanks and blouses, the skirt is super versatile so the different style tops give it a different vibe. Staying cool has been a top priority lately, and skirts are a perfect way to give shorts a break and go for something different. Do you have a piece of clothing, like my skirt you just can't let go of?  Hope you like this look!

Let me know what you think!

Organic Printed

Maxi's are a perfect go to when the temperature begins to get warmer, they exude that easy relaxed nature that one tends to assimilate with spring and summer. You can make a maxi dress work for colder spring days with a nice scarf or light jacket and wear it during summer without them. I found this maxi dress and immediately fell in love with its print, the others I have tend to be more on the indian inspired prints and this mix of graphic and reptile was a nice change without it being overwhelming. I wanted to highlight the bottom detailing, so I added a pop of color with the orange scarf and the purple bag.

Let me know what you think about this look!
