Steals!

I have to admit that I'm quite the sale enthusiast, there's nothing better than finding that bag you've been eyeing for some time with a great discount! I don't necessarily wait for those incredible sales to begin looking at them, sometimes I'll look every week and other times every couple of months. Last night I was looking at some sales, because honestly it had been some time since the last time I did and found these incredible pieces.

I always try to invest in timeless pieces, even if it's on sale, I don't tend to go for super trendy high ticket items. Black sandals will always be in, and they are really versatile, so these B Brian Atwood ones are to invest in. A simple, no fuss, but super stylish black leather bag is one you'll surely keep for many years to come, I particularly love the gold hardware on this one.

I love boots in tans and browns, and these ones hit the mark, I particularly love the way they look from behind and the wrapping effect. Hope you enjoy these finds!

Fall In The Tropics

I can't say it's completely cooler in Puerto Rico yet, but there are definitely days when you can feel the difference. Adding a scarf to your look is totally doable when you choose one that's made with a light material and you leave it loose around your neck. I kept the rest of the look rather simple, but opted for these sandals instead of flats, to add some color and style, you could definitely choose flats with a great bright color or print to add the same effect. Hope you like this look

Styling Shorts

Shorts are a huge summer necessity, they're perfect for staying cool and chic when the temperature starts to hit the highs. Dressing shorts can sometimes be tricky, because you don't wan't to look inappropriate and not taken seriously just because you're wearing shorts, but thankfully everyone has gotten in the bandwagon and shorts are a long way from seeming inappropriate. The best thing of shorts is that there are options ranging from super sporty, beachy types to more modern and crisp types. Living in Puerto Rico, I have had my fair share of shorts and have dressed them up and down many, many times before. Im sharing with you guys 3 looks, ranging from a more traditional to an edgier more modern style and one with more of an exotic vibe.

I matched these J. Crew shorts with a traditional button down blouse, I wanted to play with the genius prints of these shorts, so added a bright color on top. The essence of this look is rather traditional and has a slight touch of preppy, but the print of these shorts keeps it from being to cooky cutter. I see this look working for a day out, maybe running some errands and catching lunch with a friend, so I chose these Dolce Vita wedges because besides being comfortable, in this tone they elongate the leg, which is ideal when wearing shorts.

I've been so attracted lately to anything that seems worldly or exotic and different that I really wanted to create a look with this in mind. Bright colors and prints are key when dressing with this in mind, so this look does carry a high dose of brights and prints. Hair accessories are a great thing to have during summer, because it spruces up you look without looking to over the top. For this look I was going for an easy going chic style, which would be perfect for wearing while vacationing. From all these pieces I consider the most summer essentials are the gladiator sandals in a bright color, the headband and these shorts that seem super comfortable and stylish.

For this last look, I went for a completely modern and edgy side. I can see this for dinner at a hip restaurant or for a friends party, you could through a jacket over this and just add more of an edgier style. What really makes this look are the high waist shorts, the print and detailing are what give it a futuristic touch and I accessorized accordingly to add more of the edgy style. I hope you like these look and see it's easy to dress in shorts without looking like you were cleaning the house or your car, and that there are many ways to style them and look great!

Let me know what you think!

Styling Statement Shoes

A couple of days ago I posted about Sophia Webster's shoes and how I'm obsessed with them, because of their colors, prints and wearable creativity. I got a question about styling shoes like these; with the ones I chose in particular, I can see them working wonders with a casual look, ideal for a relaxed summer outing. When you have statement shoes like these, you can either let them be the star of your outfit or bring in other prints that compliment them. I'm a huge enthusiast of mixing prints, so for this look I added some subtle touches of prints through the blazer and t-shirt. I really didn't want to take away form these sandals, so I kept to one tone of color, blue. By doing this, I was able to add other prints without taking the focus off from the sandals. This summer I'm really liking boyfriend jeans, so I couldn't help but to add one of my many summer must haves to complete this casual yet chic look. You could totally pair it with solids so they stand out more or you can go even more daring and add bolder prints to your look.  Hope you like it!

Tropical Feel

Today, as I was stepping out for a lunch date with friends I snapped a couple of pictures of what I was wearing. I bought this skirt on my last trip to Zara, I loved it's tropical feel and knew it would be the perfect piece to pack for weekend getaways during summer. This skirt works perfectly with heeled sandals, like I wore it for a lunch date or pair it with ballet flats for a more comfortable look, ideal for sightseeing or shopping. I know temperatures have been crazy all over, but summer is supposed to be hot, so finding pieces like this skirt would make dressing for warm days extremely easy and fashionable. Hope you like it!

Shoe Genius-Sophia Webster

If I had to put into words what I think about Sophia Webster's shoes, I would say they're pure genius. Anything with bright colors, embellishments, or that breaks the norm is a must have in my closet. They have the perfect amount of creativity while still being extremely wearable and versatile. I can just imagine them being the statement piece with a little black dress for a quaint dinner of two or wearing them with cropped boyfriend jeans for an afternoon of shopping with your girlfriends. I know it's easy for shoes to be the forgotten detail, but these will never look like an afterthought. Sandals are definitely the go to shoe for summer, and with prints, colors and textures being super must haves for summer these are the perfect shoe to sport during summer days and nights! Hope you like them!

Fuchsia

Bright colors are a must have during spring, and this fuchsia blouse is a perfect way to start the day of. When it begins to get hot tight clothes aren't as comfortable, so it's natural to try and find loose fitted clothes, but the thing is you don't want to look slouchy just because you're almost melting away... When you're wearing a loose fitted outfit it's important to create definition within the pieces, using a bright colored blouse is a great way to do this. By choosing the graphic printed clutch I added more interest to the look and the sandals were just the perfect touch in looking chic during a hot day! Let me know what you think!

Closet Wishlist- Sandals

When you want to show off your toes when it begins to get warmer, the perfect shoe for this job are sandals. You can go as basic as the traditional strappy sandals or choose a more modern take to them like laser cut sandals below. I included these Alexander Wang cutout pumps because not everyone wants to show off their toes, so these pumps are a perfect option. The cutouts in them automatically give them a fresher lighter feel as does the light blue color. I love neutral tone colored shoes because they elongate the legs, but If I want to add color I like to make a statement, I've particularly been loving blue-greenish tones. I chose some affordable options in both trends! Hope you enjoy the post! What shoes can't you wait to use when it finally gets warmer?
