An Unexpected Place With Edge

Black skinny jeans paired with a graphic t-shirts makes wonders. It's actually such a laid back no fuss look, but because of the graphics of the t-shirt it automatically looks edgy and full of style. I could definitely add a cool jacket and a pair of pumps to add a sophisticated touch to the look. This location was ridiculously random, I was going for a late lunch with my boyfriend when we passed by a place that we've passed a million times before and he pointed out that it would make a great space to take pictures, have to give it to him... he was totally correct! La combinación entre unos mahones skinny negro y una t-shirt con diseños es magnífica. En realidad este look es uno muy simple pero el hecho de que la t-shirt tenga unas gráficas tan llamativas le da un toque "edgy" al look inmediatamente. Si quisiera darle un toque sofisticado añadiría un jacket y unos tacones al look. La ubicación de estas fotos fue una súper interesante, iba de camino a almorzar con mi novio y pasamos por un sitio que hemos pasado miles de veces antes, pero esta vez el me dijo que sería un sitio estupendo para tomar fotos, y tengo que dárselo, para mí quedaron tremendas. The Red Touch

Good morning! My last two post have been definitely on the dressier side, so for this post I wanted to go for a casual look. When I saw this blouse I went crazy over it, so much so that I bought my mom the same one. The sheerness of this blouse makes the styling options endless, you can go for a super casual look like mine or pair with a great pencil skirt for a more polished look. I love being able to pull off simple looks that make a statement, even though the look is almost all-black the blouse really makes the different. Hope you have an amazing weekend & like this look!

¡Buenos días! Mis últimos post han sido un poco más en el lado de lo formal por lo que quise ir por uno casual para este post. Me volví loca con esta blusa desde el momento que la vi, me gustó tanto que  decidí regalarle una a mi mamá. El detalle transparente de la blusa le brinda muchísimas oportunidades de usar, puedes ir por un look casual o usarla con una falda tipo pencil para un look sofisticado. Aunque el look es casi todo negro el detalle de la flor y el rojo de la blusa hacen toda la diferencia. Espero que tengan un buen fin de semana y que les guste este look.

Giving It A Modern Twist

 

Tutu skirts have been huge lately and they were on my Holiday dressing list of must haves and still are. A full skirt cinched at the waist has an automatic flair of vintage femininity and usually I would take advantage of this and keep within that style. For this look I really wanted to give it a modern twist. Adding animal print, or in this case a reptile print, is a perfect way to give anything a more modern and edgy touch. Adding a great belt would have given the look a more casual touch, making it super versatile. Hope you have an amazing day & like this look!

Las faldas tipo tutú han sido una gran sensación y definitivamente están en mi lista de must haves. Cuando una falda es voluminosa y ceñida en la cintura, automáticamente tiene un aire vintage y muy femenino. Para este look le quise dar un toque moderno a la falda. Añadir un estampado de piel de animal o de reptil, le da un toque moderno a cualquier cosa. Una manera de darle más carácter a este look hubiese sido con una correa grande, cual lo hubiese hecho más casual también  Espero que tenga un buen día y que les guste este look.

New Year's Eve Style Inspiration

New Year's Eve celebrations are just around the corner, literally, they're tomorrow. I've always opted for dressier options for these celebrations, because... obviously we want to welcome the New Year looking and feeling truly are best. I wanted to style two totally different looks, a really modern slightly edgy one and a really classy and traditional look. This asymmetrical dress will really make a statement, and I accessorized it the same way. I kept everything with very few colors, going for an almost all black and gold, but with everything making their own statement. 

For those of us that want to ring in the new year in a classy way, I went for a super luxurious deep blue almost purple colored dress. I added a blueish-greenish tone of color with the jewelry, and accessorized with really traditional and classy items, to keep everything in line. Hope you like these looks!

Las celebraciones del año nuevo están súper cercas, tan cercas como mañana. Siempre he escogido vestirme más formal para estas fiestas, ya que creo que todos queremos recibir el año nuevo viéndonos y sintiéndonos lo mejor posible. Para este post quise hacer dos looks totalmente diferentes, uno moderno y otro clásico. Para el moderno escogí un traje asimétrico que será muy difícil de olvidar. Mantuve el look casi todo negro y dorado con accesorios muy llamativos en su propia forma.

Para esas de nosotras que queremos recibir el año de manera muy elegante y tradicional escogí un traje con un color precioso, un azul-violetoso. Mantuve los tacones y la cartera simples y añadí un poco de color con las pantallas y la pulsera. Espero que les guste este look.

Brilliant Earth Personality Style Challenge

Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday, I love how everybody gets together and how the air is filled with laughter and love, so, Merry, Merry Christmas. A couple of days ago I got an email from the people at Brilliant Earth, which is a jewelry company with an amazing vision, to participate in a  Personality Style Challenge, needless to say I was beyond excited and honored.

I've always believed that we should take care of the planet and those that inhabit it, after all, we all live in it. They stand for the belief that luxury goods don't need to come at great human or environmental cost, their forte are ethically sourced diamonds and engagement rings, the best part is... they offer beautiful jewelry!

I went for a super modern, minimalist style, black and white is always super fashionable and really, you can't go wrong with it, ever. I decided to add a pop of color and style with the pumps and kept the jewelry super sleek. I love using small earrings for my everyday, and these moon earrings are super versatile and they add an unexpected touch to the look (also loved these). Las navidades siempre han sido mi época favorita, el aire está lleno de amor y felicidad, por lo que les quiero desear las más felices navidades. Hace unos cuantos días recibí un mail de la gente de Brilliant Earth para participar en un Personality Style Challenge, tengo que decir que estoy emocionadísima. 

Siempre he pensado que deberíamos ser más conscientes con el planeta y la gente que vive en él, después de todo, solo hay uno. Brilliant Earth tiene una visión que los productos de lujo no tienen que ser a costa del ambiente y los humanos, su fuerte son brillantes y anillos de compromiso, lo mejor de todo... sus piezas son preciosas. 

Para el challenge, quise irme por un estilo minimalista y moderno, el blanco y negro siempre es muy chic, en realidad no hay manera de que no funcione. Añadí un toque de color y estilo con los tacones y mantuve las prendas muy simples. Siempre uso pantallas pequeñas para todos los días y estas pantallas de lunas son muy versátiles, le añaden un toque inesperado al look. Espero que les guste mi look y muchas felicidades.

From Head to Toe

There's something about wearing all black, that I find is fierce and sexy, but in a subtle and simple way. I had been looking for a blouse like this for a long time; it's definitely a must to have. You can wear alone, as I did in this look or you can layer a jacket over it, and it's really versatile, you can wear it casual or in a dressier style. I've always thought that a great red lip is the best accessory for an all black look, it's that punch of color that ties it all together. Hope you like this look.

Siempre he pensando que un look todo negro da un toque de seguridad y sexy, pero de una manera sutil. Llevaba buscando una blusa como esta por muchísimo tiempo, y pienso que es muy crucial en cualquier closet. I found this amazing Helmut Lang jacket at their sample sale last week in New York, and I loved it right then and there. It has so many styling options, from a really sophisticated all-black look, to a more casual one with ripped jeans or throw it over LBD as the perfect finishing touch.  

Since the print is the focus of this jacket I decided to let it stand out, normally I would've gone for black skinny jeans, but I decided to go for an all white look to keep it super fresh.  Hope you like this look!

Encontré este jacket Helmut Lang en su sample sale en Nueva York y quedé loca con el allí mismo. Es súper versátil, lo puedes usar en un look sofisticado, uno casual con mahones, o usarlo sobre un traje conrto negro como el detalle perfecto. 

Lo especial de este jacket es su estampado, decidí verstir alrededor de el para dejarlo brillar, usualmente me hubiese ido por unos mahones skinny negro, pero escogí un look todo blanco para mantenerlo fresco. ¡Espero que les guste este look!

Leather jackets are everything right now, they're one of those pieces many of us have in our closet to add a little edge or style to our look, obviously not forgetting that they're a functional piece also. One thing is for sure... a leather jacket can be one pretty pricey item. You could see them as an investment, you're obviously going to wear it almost everyday, for a couple of months, so your ROI will be rather high, but what if, I don't want to invest $500+ in one... Los jackets de cuero son un de las piezas más "it" del momento, lo usamos para darle un poco de edge a nuestro look, sin olvidar que son piezas funcionales. Algo es seguro... estas piezas tienden a llevar un precio bastante alto. Lo podemos ver como una inversión, ya que lo vamos a utilizar casi todos los días por unos cuantos meses, por lo que le vamos a sacar la inversión, pero, y si no queremos invertir $500+ en uno... A great pair of jeans can be one of the most important pieces in any closet, they can be the base for a super simple and casual look or for a more edgy and dressed up look. I know how hard it can be to find an incredible pair of jeans, personally, for me, it's one of the hardest things to shop for, but they're worth it. Modern Sophisticated

Tanks like this one are simple in concept, but say so much. This top I've had for a very long time and I have worn it in many different styles, from sophisticated looks to more grungy ones. The top structure of this blouse is what makes it timeless and sophisticatedly sexy, only exposing the shoulders and drawing attention to the neck, which I find to be a strong way of being sexy. As I mentioned above this blouse is really versatile, for today I chose black trousers with really high pumps, and left accessories to a minimum for a young and edgy sophisticated look. You could pair this top with black denim shorts and a great pair of strappy sandals for a laid back warm night look or go for some structured white shorts for a more modern version of this look. There are pieces of clothing that stand the test of time looking as perfectly beautiful and timeless as the day they were first bought, do you have any pieces like this?! Stripes & Zippers

The idea of mixing traditional with modern/edgier has always appealed to me; I've always thought that it's a great way to give your wardrobe a twist. I love the zipper detail in this skirt which is what actually gives it it's edgy flair and the purple color fills it with attitude. Eventhough the blouse is super traditional it's simplicity and really thin straps give it a modern touch which goes perfectly with the skirt. Both items are super versatile, the skirt would also look amazing with a white t-shirt and some cool loafers, and the top would look amazing with some highwaisted white shorts for a really traditional look. I kept in tune with the edgy stye by choosing the cut-out booties and graphic bag. Hope you like this look!

Back to Basics- B&W

There are days when going back to basics is the best choice, I know we all have different basics and these are some of mine. I love black & white to the point that I have to remind myself that I can't live in black & white, and lately I've been succeeding, but today was just one of those day. I'm a huge black skinny jeans enthusiast, they still have the casual touch that jeans give any look, but by being black they automatically have an edgier style and aren't so much of the norm. I kept my look super laid back with this simple white top, but added my open toe booties, leather necklace and clutch to keep in with an edgier touch. What are your basics? Hope you like this look!
