For A Relaxed Sunday

If I could, I'd probably wear shorts, literally, all the time. Even though I love all types of clothes and styles, my true sense of style has always been a really relaxed and easy going one. This Cynthia Rowley blouse is from Marshalls, I usually find these types of blouses quite easily there, plus they always have great prints and colors. This type of blouse is a great match to wear with shorts because you can style the look more. I wore this during a super relax sunday so I kept it really simple, but you could definitely dress it up more by adding a statement necklace. Hope you had an amazing weekend & like this look!

Si pudiera, andaría en shorts todos los días. Aunque me encanta todo tipo de ropa y estilo, siempre he optado por uno relajado, podría decir hasta con un toque playero. Encontré esta blusa Cynthia Rowley en Marshalls, usualmente las encuentro fácilmente allí y siempre tienen estampados y colores muy bonitos. Me encanta parear este tipo de blusa con shorts porque le da un toque más vestido al look, pero manteniéndolo simple. Ya que usé este look durante un domingo súper tranquilo, opté por usarlo muy simple, pero le podríamos añadir un collar llamativo para darle más vida al look. Espero que hayan tenido un fin de semana estupendo y les guste este look.

The Pear

Winter time is finally beginning to be felt here in Puerto Rico, we're having great sunny and breezy days, perfect for a light sweater. I  scored this little number at J.Crew's black friday sale, I'm obsessed with fun and quirky sweaters.Yellow and purple make a great bright combination, so I thought this skirt would be the perfect match for the sweater, plus the zipper details add an unexpected edgy twist to the look! Al fin se siente el fresco navideño aquí en Puerto Rico, con los días soleados y frescos que estamos teniendo un sweater liviano es perfecto para usar. A mi me encantan los sweaters con estampados y colores brillantes, encontré este en la venta del viernes negro de J.Crew. El violeta y el amarillo hacen una combinación perfecta, por lo que pense que esta falda sería ideal con el amarillo de la pera. El detalle de los zippers le añade un toque inesperado al look completo. Espero que les guste este look y tengan un fin de semana buenísimo.

Holiday Style

Well... I'm back! After a long Thanksgiving trip, visiting family over at Austin (which is amazing!!!), I'm back and super excited to share ideas and style tips for the holidays!

One of the things I'm most excited about these holidays, in terms of fashion, has to be delicate embroidered work and embellishment. I love the sophisticated touch it gives. I created this look for an article I wrote about holiday fashion and it was mostly done around the idea of understated beauty and bringing sophistication back. The top and the shoes work as the neutral part to balance the look out and let the skirt and accessories stand out.

This entire look carries a huge price tag, which can be thought of as the result of going for a super sophisticated look, but it really doesn't have to be like this. You have a couple of options... splurge on one item and keep the others more budget friendly, or go for a look that has this essence without the designer labels, like the one below. My favorite piece from the second look has to be the belt, you could actually go for any dress, skirt or pants you already have in your closet and give them new life with an amazing belt like this one. Y... estoy de vuelta. Después de unas vacaciones en Austin (cual me encantó) visitando familia, estoy aquí y súper emocionada de compartir con ustedes ideas y tips para la época navideña.

Uno de los trends que estoy loca por usar estas navidades tiene que ser el bordado en pedrerías, me encanta el toque sofisticado que añade. Trabajé este look para un artículo que escribí sobre moda navideña, el mismo estaba centralizado en la idea de lo clásico y sofisticado. La blusa y los tacones sirven como las piezas neutrales, para así dejar que la falda y los accesorios brillen.

Es fácil pensar que un look sofisticado lleva un precio muy alto, como es con el de arriba, pero no tiene que ser así. Tenemos algunas opciones... podemos invertir en una pieza y escoger otras más accesibles, o ir por un look que tiene la esencia pero no las marcas de diseñador, como el de abajo. Mi pieza favorita del segundo look es la correa, puedes usarla con un traje, pantalón o una falda que ya tienes y darle vida. ¡Espero que les guste este look!

I have to admit that I'm quite the sale enthusiast, there's nothing better than finding that bag you've been eyeing for some time with a great discount! I don't necessarily wait for those incredible sales to begin looking at them, sometimes I'll look every week and other times every couple of months. Last night I was looking at some sales, because honestly it had been some time since the last time I did and found these incredible pieces.

I always try to invest in timeless pieces, even if it's on sale, I don't tend to go for super trendy high ticket items. Black sandals will always be in, and they are really versatile, so these B Brian Atwood ones are to invest in. A simple, no fuss, but super stylish black leather bag is one you'll surely keep for many years to come, I particularly love the gold hardware on this one.

I love boots in tans and browns, and these ones hit the mark, I particularly love the way they look from behind and the wrapping effect. Hope you enjoy these finds!

 Tengo que admitir que me encantan los especiales, como cuando consigues esa cartera que llevas velando por meses con un tremendo descuento...nada mejor. No necesito esperar a las súper ventas para mirarlas, la verdad es que aveces las veo todas las semanas, mientras otras veces cada varios meses. Anoche me percate que hacia tiempo no visitaba los especiales, decidí mirarlos y encontré maravillas. 

Siempre prefiero invertir en piezas que nunca pasaran de moda como estas sandalias. Una cartera simple, de cuero negro la podrás usar por muchísimos años, esta de Marc Jacobs tiene el detalle dorado que le añade interés a ella. 

Cuando viene a botas me encantan cuando son en tonos marrón, y estas con dos tonos diferentes me han encantado. Espero que le guste mis escogidos.

Simple & Bohemian

I've seen my collection of simple white tops grow little by little, and the thing is, I think you can never have enough of this staple item. They look great with just jeans and a jacket, but they also make the perfect backdrop for other, more extravagant pieces. These shorts have an amazing print, with beads detailing the edge of the pattern; I've worn them with dressier tops for more "fancier" occasions, but decided on this top to make it relax weekend appropriate. 

Since the shorts have a bohemian flair, I added these wooden bead necklaces that have the coolest tassels. I went for a simple understated leather bag, to keep within the style, but loved that the booties gave it an unexpected twist. Hope you like this look!

He visto como mi colección de blusas blancas ha crecido con el tiempo, pero pienso que nunca serán suficientes. Estas blusas, súper simples, se ven tan bien con mahones y un jacket, como con piezas que visten más. Estos pantalones cortos tienen un estampado espectacular y canutillos que van por el borde del mismo. Los he llevado con blusas finas para ocasiones donde tengo que vestir más, pero los quise usar para el fin de semana, por lo que escogí algo más simple con que llevarlo.

Como estos pantalones tienen un toque bohemio, quise ir por detalles simples para el resto, escogiendo estos collares de madera con "tassels" y un bolso de cuero color crema. Para darle un toque inesperado al look me fuí con estos booties grises como detalle final.

Decor Inspiration

I'm a huge enthusiast of interior decoration, my comfort zone in design is definitely black and white, but I love what pops of colors can do to a room. Since wallpapers got their comeback I've been obsessing over them, they can add so much character to a simple room, I particularly love it when it's used to create an accent wall. I once was at a restaurant that had it's entire, extremely small bathroom covered in the coolest wallpaper, and you'd probably think it would feel claustrophobic, but it didn't, it was the most stylish small space I'd ever been in.

I love how dramatic a black wall can be, it adds instant glamour and sophistication, even to a bathroom!  One of my favorite ways to decorate any room, without spending a lot is by filling the wall with paintings, photos or mirrors. Eye catching rugs and pillows are also a great way to add instant character to any room. Hope you like this post & have a wonderful day!

La decoración de interiores es otra de las cosas que me apasiona, usualmente mi zona de confort es el blanco y el negro, pero me encanta lo que un poco de color le puede hacer a un cuarto. Desde que el "wallpaper" volvió estoy totalmente obsesionada con el, especialmente cuando lo usan para crear una pared llamativa. Una vez estuve en el baño diminuto de un restaurante, y estaba forrado completamente en el "wallpaper", pensarían ustedes que daría claustrofobia, pero no, definitivamente el lugar más estiloso en el que he estado. 

Una pared negra añade glamour y sofisticación a cualquier cuarto... hasta a un baño. Una de mis maneras favoritas para decorar sin gastar mucho, es llenando una pared de cuadros, retratos o espejos. Una alfombra llamativa o unos cojines coloridos le pueden dar mucho carácter a cualquier espacio en tu hogar. ¡Espero que les guste este post & tengan un magnífico día!
