Traveling with Style

 Traveling and style don't usually mix, and even more so when your getting on a 5+ hour trip, it's only natural to value comfort over style in these circumstances. For example, choosing flats over amazing pumps, or going for slouchy pants instead of skinny ones, but the truth is, you don't really have to sacrifice style completely. Lets target pants, I don't consider skinny jeans to be the most comfortable trousers for sitting in small seats for what seems like endless hours, but I won't go for sweatpants either, the trick is to find loose fitted pants, possibly with some stretch to them and if you score them in a great bold color or print it'll be perfect. Blouses are easier to find in a comfortable fit, you can go for a great T-shirt and add a jacket or scarf to keep you warm and add even more colors and character to your look. Ballet flats are a great go to for traveling, they're super easy to take off when you have to pass by the security check points and they're also really comfortable. Lastly, be wise to take a bag that's big enough to fit everything, but that you will able to have your hands free to carry other bags. What are your travel basics? Hope you like this look!

Summer Accessories- Scarves

Layering get's pretty difficult during summer, it can be really hot during the day and then get cooler at night, what's a girl to do? Should we carry a jacket with us during the entire day, so when it gets cooler we're literally covered? In more realistic terms, a scarf is a great accessory to have during summer, it creates the effect of layering and you can add a real statement to your wardrobe with it. I usually choose  scarves that have either a bold print, bright colors or embellishments, or all three in one if you find it. Scarves are a great option to cover up for summer because they're light enough to have during the day, but you can wrap yourself with them when it gets cooler, and if the day has been super warm you can easily fold and store it inside your bag. The versatility that scarves offer is another pro in owning one, you can go for a really laid back look by pairing it with shorts or a short summer dress or dress it up for a more fashionable look with skinny jeans and a great jacket, plus you can have them almost all year round. Organic Printed

Maxi's are a perfect go to when the temperature begins to get warmer, they exude that easy relaxed nature that one tends to assimilate with spring and summer. You can make a maxi dress work for colder spring days with a nice scarf or light jacket and wear it during summer without them. I found this maxi dress and immediately fell in love with its print, the others I have tend to be more on the indian inspired prints and this mix of graphic and reptile was a nice change without it being overwhelming. I wanted to highlight the bottom detailing, so I added a pop of color with the orange scarf and the purple bag.

Airiness

I spotted this BCBG blouse some time ago and I've paired it with everything from skinny jeans to wide leg jeans, today I chose this skirt. Even though I'm pretty petite I love wearing loose and big blouses like this one, I always wear them with high heels or platforms like these to balance the look . I not only fell in love with the blouse because of it's construction but it has this great geometric print that contrasts perfectly with the water color feeling it has. Looks like this one are perfect for spring or welcoming summer because of their airiness and carefree style.  I always try to find items like this blouse, that I know I'll be able to wear with different things and achieve completely different looks.

Daytime Wedding?

Summer is just around the corner, and just as it might be difficult to look good in the cold it can also be during hot days. I saw this Zara dress and immediately fell in love with it, I thought it would be perfect for a day time summer wedding. I've been to a couple of more casual weddings and sometimes it's kind of complicated choosing what to wear. Maybe you don't want to be in a long maxi because the bride is suppose to be the only one wearing a long dress, but then how do you look appropriate in a short dress and it's during the day, so it shouldn't be so sparkly... This dress would be perfect for those occasion and the best part is how versatile it is. 

I chose two ways to style it, you can either go classy bohemian or go simple and modern. On the bohemian style the bag and the earrings are statement pieces, the earrings are amazing, they have such a strong pink color and the detailed top is exquisite. On the modern side you have this Alexander Wang clutch that every modern style enthusiast should have in their closet, the deep red will be the statement piece of any outfit. Then you have the layered cuff, which looks amazing and the best part is that it's a huge bargain! How would you style this look! Let me know!

It's official, Spring is here!!! I wish I could write something like "put your coats & gloves away..." but winter is still holding strong. It doesn't hurt to day dream about warmer days, so as to help you with your vision I rounded up some of my favorite sunglasses to help you with the sunny days to come. My favorite type of sunglasses are without a doubt oversized, they're perfect for those mornings when you don't have a single drop of makeup on and just don't want to show your face yet, or they also work on protecting a larger portion of your face from the sunlight while looking incredibly chic! I tend to prefer rounded sunglasses, but it really depends on the shape of your face. The star of this post are definitely these Louis Vuitton Holly shades, they have this wonderful retro feel to them that I just love, but they are quite expensive, but an affordable option that would give the same effect would be these Tory Burch Print sunglasses. 

Everyone should have a great pair of sunglasses, they can be expensive, but if you take good care of them you could have them for a couple of years and you'll have a high ROI since you'll be wearing them almost everyday. I'm always obsessing over sunglasses, my mom always tells me that I would be happy walking around naked with an oversized bag and oversized shades, so that pretty much sums up my affection towards them! Something Blue

I'm not the hugest fan of really tight dresses but when I saw this one I loved the color and print so I couldn't say no. I always try to find clothes that you can change up just by adding other pieces or changing your accessories and shoes and that's exactly what I saw in this dress. I decided on this Tory Burch bag to add a punch of color and to play with the prints of both pieces. Lately I've been all over sandals so when I saw the opportunity to pair them with this dress I couldn't say no but you could definitely use any shoes with this dress.  Hope you enjoy the look!

Lovely in Grey

Today I'm sharing with you two different looks but with the same idea of using ponchos. In the first look I'm wearing a modern version of the poncho, with its shorter length it makes it look more casual and functional. I decided to wear grey leggings and booties to lengthen the look, I chose a purple fringed clutch to add a splash of color and texture to the look.

In this second look I wore a longer poncho where its details lie on the neck and length of the poncho. This one is true to the original poncho and its length gives it a more elegant yet bohemian look. I used simple earrings and picked up my hair so it wouldn't look too busy with the exaggerated neck. Super excited with my new Tory Burch Ballerina Flats. They have a great color to add interest and complete or add to any look. And lately I’ve been loving anything and everything suede!

I usually prefer pairing shorts with button down shirts as to achieve a combination of a casual yet classy look that can make you stand out in any crowd. I love Ralph Lauren's button down shirts in Classic Fit, because they're loose but they still look tailored. I paired my printed Zara shorts with a pink Ralph Lauren shirt. The dominant hues on the short's are blue and lilacs, I chose to wear a pink shirt to highlight the more subtle pinks and reds in the print. For the shoes I wore Tory Burch leather ballet flats and paired them with a LV Speddy bag.
